I will sell and look for a ''linehaul'' union job, home every night.I will get paid good for ''running legal''.If they want me to run legal as an O/O,they will have to pay the big bucks...SIMPLE.Until then i will do whatever i have to do to make a living.
i had one company, one dispatcher "force" me to do 1300mi in 24hrs i said never again every load we get, we know how long it will take to get it there we know how much sleep we will need if you cannot get the load safely there, on time DONT TAKE THE LOAD I have/had bills just like the next man
Hmmmm, need more info - what and how did you log within your first 6 hours? If you did a pti-tiv when you started (at noon) and show 1hr lunch between the 4.75th and 5.75th hour( because you walked off the property, jogged, and had your lunch or did all that in the sleeper) then log "17:45-18:00 / TIV,undocking, BOL", then you can drive 5hrs, do a 7min "R/Area break and TIV, MM360EB"(always do an enroute tiv), then finish your run and be parked at 01:54 at which point you do a Post-Trip Inspection and Trailer Integrity Verification. You should be able to drive aminimum of 434 miles, if you cut your enroute tiv (that way they cannot blame you with negligence, fatigue, etc should a mishap ocurr) by 2 min, and are governed at more than 63mph giving you an avg transit on the drive Line of more than 56mph, to aprox 64mph, then you should be able to drive 496.(fyi- jsut because your truck does 70mph does not mean you are going to avg 70mph on the driv Line, simply divide your total miles by total hrs on Line 3 driving; ej : 518 miles div by 9.25 = 56mph.
i cant believe how much drivers want to be like mice in a maze (if you jump, roll over, play dead, they will give you a biscuit for great time management)
Soooo TRUE.... You just described my situation, such a simple eye-opener; I guess am doing it cause 1) I am almost 50 and dont have my own place ( I need a cheap but decent high-altitude/semi-alpine place to retire, sleep, enjoy life) AND, 2)My 80 year old Dad and brother are requesting I help provide them with a place to live using their $600/monthly income.??????
''Lie'' is the only way to make ''great'' money. The DOT set it up as a refugee camp on wheels. They have made it this way over the years. Many of us call it sweat shops on wheels anymore.. If you follow the ''dot'' right way, drivers will be led to the welfare lines and slaughter houses..Then again many drivers think 500.00 a week is good money...
