Not sure about Paccar Engine, Cummins however offers a free quick serve for their customers or people using their engines with free info on repairs and diags etc on their engines. I am getting.
A lot of MPG is about the driver. How you drive it. Auto Transmission may either be better for you or you may be better suited for a manual trans if you are good at shifting. Many variables to this and what your hauling how fast you run, where you run. Do you drive it like an eggshell on the accelerator or do you give it some muscle lol?

I run with a guy with a 567, he gets around 5.6 mpg. He idles a lot tho, and we do oversize mostly. My 389 gets around 5.4 mpg. I idle a lot less. Both are the x15 . Can I ask why you want the auto?

An auto shifter, if it can be programmed like the T680 Paccar I once had, will allow the transmission to go out of gear and coast as long as speed stays within 3 MPH of cruise set speed.

Over about 100k miles, I got 8.6 MPG in that 2015 T680, Paccar, Eaton 10 auto.

There is a big difference between an Eaton automated transmission & an Allison fluid driven transmission. Most here are gonna have experiance with the Eaton. That with the fact you don’t know what engine you want or hp/tq rating you will spec, or rears you’ll spec make this an impossible question

it will really depend on the driver, is the driver a jack rabbit always rushing or a steady slug? Then terrain and weather can make differences along with the weight.
