    On contraire :)

Government jobs will allow you to transfer. Agencies like the United States Postal Service counts your years of military service as previous employment. It'll be like you worked 5 years at USPS. If you drove in the military, that also counts as experience.

The Postal Service hires Class B drivers for their MVO (Motor Vehicle Operator) position. They'll also train you to get your Class A based on seniority and you can move up from a Class B MVO to a Class A TTO (Tractor Trailer Operator). Very good paying federal jobs...once you turn Full-time Regular.

Yes it's worth getting Hazmat now. Transferring is no big deal. You're gonna transfer your license anyways. Hazmat just goes along with it. The background check is federal. They won't redo that in a transfer.
BTW: I thought it was funny that Cola concentrate is a Hazmat load. hehe

I understand about the not maintaining a home while OTR. I loved OTR. But difficult to keep home maintained.
