They havent told me my orientation date yet. I think they wait till they recieve the form. The more I think of it i wouldnt mind a sleep apnea test. Just plum can not afford it. Hopefully all will be well.

Crossing fingers I dont grind gears Havent driven since March 10th and that was only a run with the state examiner LOL. I hope the trainer understands I need to get my legs again.

    Thanks for the responses everyone

This is what I am worried about I have a 20 inch neck and BMI is 47. I am 6ft and 350 lbs. Also I have passed every DOT physical for 9 years and have a good one now. Went to docs to get bolld work done and everything is good. Also went to cardiologest and did stress test 2 docs said I am good.

There are no requirements for sleep apnea tests in the Regulations for Medical Card. Some doctors (Mostly sleep disorder Doctor's what a shock) are trying to get it added. As of now if it is not in the requirements I will not do it.

Now a company may have a specific criteria in their company physical but per FMCSA reg's all thus BMI,Neck Size crap is just that.

Tazz is correct. There are "currently" no regs that require sleep tests at all. The clinic doctor reviews the questionairre you filled out before the exam. On that form you are supposed to list any medical issues you have. As long as you do not claim to snore, have restles sleep, feel fatigued during the day then the doctor shouldnt have any reason to even suggest a sleep test.

Normally after the exam the medical card will be handed to the driver and the long form physical forwarded to the company that paid for the physical. You can ask the clinic for a copy of the long form physical and they will comply.

I have had physicals in Maine, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. They have all been the same in regard to the procedure, forms, and med cards.
