Nightmares caused by not receiving mail

    the logic is, if you have plates/tags, you are driving, if you are not driving, turn in the tags

    I didnt think his issue was with his cdl..i thought it was with getting mail. Hence....PO Box.

    FYI, a mail box at UPS is considered a physical address.

    Not for CDL purposes it isn't. He's going to have CDL issues without an address whether or not he asked the question. Your CDL needs a current address on it.

    yeahhhh it is. Any box at UPS IS a physical address. billy joe bob 234 poopy lane. Suite 23 fartsville AZ thats how it looks.

    as long as he had an address at some point, he will be fine. when you renew your cdl, you dont need paperwork. they just ask, is this correct address? and i say..yep. as for hazmat....when you renew, it asks you for a physical address and mailing address. all i do is keep the physical address the same as the year before, and use the po box as a mailing address. the po box is where i got my TSA clearence paperwork. i dont see where all the problems are

    Learn something new everyday I guess. Although I think it might be dependent on the individual state too. I don't think Indiana would allow it, but others might.

    I just renewed my car and truck...both 2005, ones a beater jetta and the other a dodge 1500 2x4 nice...ran about $95each for the plates/tags.. another reason I want out of Michigan.

    I just came home from my first trip out otr with Roehl. had a friend pick me up and bring me to my sisters house. cars been sitting a few weeks, no one even needed to borrow it for a trip, left the keys with my sister and told her to share it so it got some use.

    I'm thinking about moving officially to texas, i can take my home time anywhere if roehl can get me frieght there and back out and they do try. Texas has vehicle inspections. I'm seriously considering selling my vehicles and just renting one when i need it or calling a cab or a friend. The cost of maintaining a vehicle for a year could pay for a lot of cab rides or even giving some money to a friend or family member for use of one of theirs. Roehl also has company cars that we can check out a terminals which we get to fairly regularly for fuel, easy trip to walmart for free if you have the time.

    to stay on topic it seems that the tag turn in varies by the state one lives in. Driver responsiblity in Michigan is expensive, seems like it's about $1000 a year for 3 years.
