Since Swift is mainly dedicated to contract freight as opposed to spot market, their runs are more regional..200-300 miles. Teams and Training trucks typically get the traditional "OTR" cross country loads.
I found a trick to get around that if you're willing to stay out at least 4wks. Say you live in California, put in your hometime request date set for 2 weeks out for let's say New Jersey, then they'll start heading you that way to honor your hometime. After you get to New Jersey for your hometime, set your new hometime for California, then they'll have to run you back..Rinse and repeat. Otherwise you'll be running local/regional Costco and Walmart loads...Hope this helps

I HATE when I see the code "TOLEOR" on a dispatch because that's gotta be the single ####tiest paper mill I've had the displeasure of hauling in or out of, but I'll take it every ####### time because a) it guarantees another load immediately following, courtesy of GP Toledo's ######## "no pulling empties" policy, and; b) a 4-ish hour drive from Troutdale to Toledo pays .54 cents a loaded mile. When running across the country only gets me between .40 and .46, you better believe I'll take extra cash where I can get it. The next 2 runs typically being 1000+ miles then midwest- or east coast-bound also helps
