i got the newer or new trucks. that's cuz i earned them money.

i was NEVER late to any customer at either end.

i'd sacrifice say my lunch or dinner breaks if i was falling behind due to traffic, weather, etc, but not to the point of being unsafe.

i never risked life nor limb of mine or others, i did the job.

That style of working is how you make elogs work. Trucking requires constant adjustments

i would be in CA, not a great place for out bound freight, much like Florida, but i'd be given several pick ups along the highway, when i would be dispatched out of the Ontario 76 (T/A now of course), and some of my co-workers would gripe that i was getting back on the road before them..(my dispatcher told me of this), but i refused to sit for specific loads back to (then) ohio.....so i made pick ups all the way up north in CA, then shoot over to IN, then get loaded for Ohio....

i earned my money,,wasn't afraid to run..

but that was in my earlier years.

in later years, i got off the road, and got into some great paying dedicated runs.

at one time, Roehl, had certain divisions with hiring zones...don't know if they still do that or not....

like reefer, one part of the country, van another, flatbed yet another.

I’ve called them about 5 times over the past few months and they always say they won’t hire anyone with a Florida zip. I always try to explain I’m on the panhandle but it doesn’t seem to matter

most likely from what i recall about many companies is that, they cannot guarantee you home time, past x points on the map.
