North Carolina Troopers Are Using Artificial Intelligence To Catch Texting Truckers

They need to also set it up for 4 wheelers. I see more of them texting than anyone else and they both cause lots of issues for the rest of us. Today alone cars slowing in the passing lane to deal with thier phone causing brake checks for no other reason. Three trucks playing with thier phones not paying attention to traffic then coming up on something too quickly and having to scramble left or right with no time to properly check and assess traffic beside them. Force thier way over two trucks to the burm and I was able to straddle the line and avoid getting my front end tore off by mere inches! Probably a lot more of the stupid stuff I saw was due to phones but These are the ones I could clearly see what they were doing just prior to thier screw up.

 

It will hit the cars too. They can’t start with cars, but they will get to cars once all the AI cameras are in place.

I THINK here in NC they cant stop you for just texting.....it has to be a secondary offense. They caught you speeding and texting or something similar.

 

I surprised they don’t have that in Georgia yet .

In Ga you’re not supposed to even be touching the phone in any fashion unless the phone is in a mount on the dash .

Just the phone laying on your lap is enough to get a ticket.

 

texting and driving is illegal in NC, but you can still hold and talk.

 

I know where one camera is set up at. I-40 between MM137-139. The place I park at the guy who owns it has a small fleet. One of his drivers got popped last Friday for not wearing his seatbelt. They pull you over at the rest area about the 139, so the camera is somewhere between the exit for TA and the 139MM. He denied it but, they showed him a picture
