Hats off to all you guys...... always wanted to pull a low bed. Came really close but chickened out , stuck with what I knew.
You also need to shim the deck for travel on the beam itself. If you don’t put enough deck shim in the front of the beam will hit the top stops and not be able to articulate as you go down the road. It will also bury the trailer axles - Please don’t ask me how I know this And then you get to try and shim the deck/beam with a load on it - also not much fun.....
Our XL stretch with the nitro booster needs no shims. There's actually message decals stating this. This is the only one like this in our fleet. I keep a cheat sheet for the rest due to pulling different trailers all the time.
At the booster it wouldn’t need shims we’re talking about at the deck transition. If you can’t shim there it’s pretty hard to get the trailer bogie equal.
I have, but nothing like what they’re talking about. 6 axles at most. A 330 CAT or 300 LC6 Komatsu excavator were my biggest loads, enough to let you know they are back there, but small enough to not need disassembly before transport.
Out of service in Massachusetts..... gross weight over his permit .... They parked him and said get a super load permit. P.S. that’s what you get for running 8 axles around here .....
“They give you much less weight in Massachusetts” Don’t they give annuals for 120k on 5 in mass? I’m pretty sure that’s the number. This is for state of Mass, these weights are just registration weights, not even overweight permit weights-
