Excellent, and maybe in your video you can explain pricing and how you define cheap. I think some of these guys sell themselves short while hurting the industry without even realizing it. Than before they know it they are broke and its to late.

I am going to encourage them to think about "How much are you paying yourself?" after all this is a business, I'm not driving a truck because it is a hobby.

Some on here either do not figure drivers wage as part of cost per mile or they just take what evers left as their wage

And then when the broker calls you back because he was trying to call your bluff, tell him it's $1500 for screwing with you.

In construction its called bidding scared. When i was a builder i Denver sometimes when jobs were scarce i would have to bid low just to keep my guys working. I would be doing everythkng for ,nothing or sometimes at a loss. If you dont really know what the other guy is doing it for you can run scared. I know other congractors and subcontractors who would agonize over a bid for days and then be in a quiet panic untill they heard the news.

    So quit beating it.

Some prospective customers shop at Kmart. Others shop at Saks 5th Ave. Neither store really takes any business away from the other. Customers of one usually don't shop at the other. Kmart makes a lot of money selling cheap merchandise to value shoppers. You're not big enough, nor have enough money, to be a Kmart. That said, no need to hate Kmart shoppers or stores because of that. It's a market sector you, as a small carrier, shouldn't be involved with.

However, once in a while, a Kmart shopper visits Saks for something special. A smart salesman at Saks will accommodate (with no discount) instead of burning a bridge.

On another day, the Saks customer needs something cheap and quick. Maybe a secret Santa gift for someone they don't like. They make a purchase at Kmart. Amazingly, it doesn't even dent the Saks bottom line.

The whole cheap freight conspiracy is a truck stop counter legend.

Exactly Red.. instead of wondering or worrying about what everyone else made some operators could do well to channel that energy into something productive and positive by trying to figure out ways to improve on their own operation.

It's never going to change.....I like when customers call and say how they have ten loads and want a price to move them first thing I think is there's really no guarantee that you're going to move all 10 loads so they get two prices, one if I move all and another price per load. I can care less how many loads they have or what there being moved for this is my price and can get it moved now!
