Most drivers I know that stay in this business , is because they don't fit or want to fit into a work life that most people have to.
We never wanted to punch a clock or be stuck in a cubicle .
This job gives us freedom of movement , a change of scenery everyday.
What guys like me dread is not being able to drive and having to get some job that takes that away.
It's not about driving illegally is about freedom.
I'm not sure some people get that and understand why we don't want some black box running our lives

See, that's part of the problem. We don't need "a bigger window" to work in. We somehow need more flexibility. Give you 16 hours, then we'll still be hearing "we need more hours".

There's not an easy answer but limited work window is always going to be limiting, no matter if it's 12, 14, 18, or whatever.

They're not going to give us anything , I expect the 65 mph speed limit next ,the megas mostly run at 65 mph or less .
We have to level the playing field again

I guess I have been running Outlaw! One of my runs I do on a regular bases takes 10 hrs 48 mins running the speed limit with no delays. Normally I would run this 63-64 mph and 55 through Louisiana. (Wide Load). Well while testing 3 separate Elogs over the past month I realized I needed to run 70 -75 (Texas) in order to make it in that time frame. So you tell me what is safer. Fudging the book by 15-30 min or running 70-75 all day.

Yep, I find that I do that a lot now... 75 mph all day long. My mpg is in the toilet.

I’m quite sure speed limiters are the next step of the master plan.
