If you have logged yourself in sleeper berth and an officer knocks or continuously knocks, is it legal to not answer or even acknowledge he is there?

What are my rights and legalities in this situation?

What is likely to happen in this situation

If you don’t, you’ll be towed if not in a legal parking place.
If he wants to inspect, tell him to come back in X amount of hours.
    They like that.

In general, you can't use the HOS rules as some form of a trump card. I recently was speaking to a driver that had this happen at a small store with some truck parking and a local cop woke her up to cite her for illegally idling. I suggest getting up when a cop knocks on your door. Leave the "rights" questions to actual attorneys!

    1) Do not sit in the driver seat.
    2) Proper attire is a banana hammock and nipple pasties.

    * officer may have a legit reason for knocking.. illegally parked, investigating something in area, your trailer was stolen.. etc.

HOS doesn't trump property rights. If you are not legally parked that's on you to figure out.
If he is wanting to do an inspection, simply respectfully ask him not to as you are on your rest break. If he insists, well it sucks, but go on duty and do the inspection.
Anything else you likely want to answer if he's knocking, like theft or fire or whatever.

So if you are off duty. Have your truck parked on the street at home and a cop knocks on your front door do you not answer. If there is a problem with your truck that problem will be solved with or without your help.

Just another example of views on LEO's today. It's why so many get in trouble because they aren't used to or know how to interact with authoritative figures. The innernet[sic] has turned most into introverted, self centered people that have no respect for authority, and the cops, who have an unbelievable job, have no choice but to treat any stop like a crime. This would never happen in my world, I never slept much in a truck, okay, a ##### is one thing, but if a cop knocked on my door, I'd for sure answer it. My life could be on the line, something a cop faces everyday. Believe it or not, LEO's are actually there to help us.

They also don't trump parking on public property in areas NOT designated to do so.

I appreciate your response and I support cops, but there are alot of cops who have d@ck head attitudes, even when you're nice to them. So not all cops are saints and angels
