What about the one truck stop in Joliet? With the Italian beef sandwiches......putting a big truck stop in the heart of Chicago is asking too much

I know exactly the one you talking about..nice place to park and sandwiches definitely good...if it's the same one because I thought it was south of Chicago

Ontario relative to LA? Chicago has a lot more parking ... Gary alone has 2 TAs, a Petro, a Loves and a Pilot all closer to Chicago than the Ontario TA is to Los Angeles.

The question you need to be asking is why doesn't LA have more truck stops like Chicago.

Not to mention those are litteraly the only 2 truck stops in that area. U better not ever think its a good idea to go into that area without understanding the parking situation

It really doesn't matter where you would want to build a truck stop as there are so many factors to overcome.
1 - Try and get any support from local govt. or residents who say "not in my backyard".
2 - Costs of land, permits, surveys for everything, etc.
After spending a fortune just building it, then you contend with employee issues, maintainence issues and cleaning up daily from drivers who do not give a ####.
Drivers will complain if you charge for parking, not enough parking, sit down restaurant or fast food, cost of fuel, cost of showers and then throw their trash and pee bombs on the lot.
Considering these and other issues who would want to own a truck stop.
