That's something I have never understood. Suspending a driver's license on unpaid child support. Without their license, how do they expect them to go to work and make the money to take care of that.

It is funny that they can do that, that would be like taking tools of the trade away from a carpenter or mechanic.

Husband trained a guy that would loose his CDL if he got behind on child support. I guess they figure they have you over a barrel if you don't pay. A car a person might get by with for a period of time, but a CDL would be terrible if you were suspended.

There are 3 points of view with child support payment.
    1. The person required to pay it.
    2. The person expecting, and needing to get it.
    3. The agency required to enforce it.

The agency that enforces it uses whatever tools it can to ensure payment.
The threat of losing one's drivers license is a powerful tool.
It is not illogical, unless you are the one not wanting (or able) to pay it.

For most people, the loss of a DL means they can't work...not just truck drivers, anyone who commutes or uses their vehicle as a service. If you kill someone's livelihood, they can't work ergo can't make the payments.
