Overhang issues with 53' Highmount trailers ?

    I had to pickup cars from a scale in Washinton state the way i understood even with a permit nothing could extend past the rear bumper. They are absolutely anal.

    IA, MI, MO & Ohio do not seem impressed with high mount car haulers being over length. By that, I mean over hang off of either end of a high mount. A friend of mine was stopped a couple miles from the border in MI for over hang off of the front of a Sun Country 8 car years ago.

    Those are the States that I am familiar with. Oh & as mentioned above, WA is stuck at 53' too. Wyoming has something(forget the max overall measurement of load on trailer) but it was something to do with that the load is divisible. So for them it was not the over hang. Maybe someone will correct me if wrong as that is way old info.

    Thankfully there is pending legislation that would classify us correctly as auto haulers, allowing is the same rules as stinger trucks.
