Well they are not a power house for sure but ran a Paccar MX13 485 in my 2013 t660 over a million miles and just did the maintenance according to engine manual. they are not junk. Just a little different maintenance interval. Servicing and such not hard and overheads are not hard to do at home in driveway

I decided to rebuild mine after 840,000 and it's beautiful inside just needed liners, pistons and a couple intake rockers

Exactly Mines currently wide open getting an inframe NOT BECAUSE IT BLEW UP EITHER lol it was running strong at 840,000 just wanted to get better fuel mileage I was at about 6mpg on a good day I haul flat or step and usually heavier and didn't want to be stranded in the winter so I figured f it

Be careful with that Lucas I don't use it because it thickens the film and can cause bearing issues in the new epa trucks

With all the issues Cummins has
I really didn’t mind my Paccar never was on a hook.
Love my DD15 engine as well. Cummins no friggin way, money pits!.
I am not trying to stroke my ego by being first to the top or bragging rights. I want a strong dependable engine.

I’m on my 3rd truck with the Paccar motor
    510 in all of them
No issues other than a sensor issue on the 2014 I had but I bought that truck with 189k on it so not sure how it was maintained
The other two were a 2019 and now a 2021
Get good mpg and it’s been staying out of the shop other than my regular PM stuff

    QUALITYTRUCK and jason6541 Thank this.
