Did they? Lol. It doesn't matter to me either way I just wondered what the math was like as I hate it. Securment and stuff I'm not worried about
XM is in the truck, but YOU have to pay for the subscription to the XM service. If you park-up every Sunday night by 9pm local, then the Satellite (should your truck have it already installed...mine did not upon being issued to me. I had to have my ops-manager tell the shop to install it when it came in for its first service) is $12.xx/month. If you don't park-up each Sunday, I think it goes up to nearly $30/month +/- You can no longer buy or have TMC install fridges. That stopped a few years back according to my trainer, because I tried to buy one from TMC and have them install it like he was able to do w/ his fridge in his truck. You can get a fridge no larger than 3.1cu/ft and it has to be on the floor of your sleeper berth..can't be in a cabinet.
Experienced drivers go through some classroom training, but not to the extent of TMC's CDL students. Everything we did w/ the exception of the longer (of the 2) securement test were open-book.
I know TMC says 80%+ have opted for percentage pay. Have any of you talked to guys who went mileage? I was just wondering how they decided that mileage was better.
They say there's less than 5% who choose to be paid CPM. $10,112 (Approx) is what I've been paid OVER having chosen % pay, vs had I chose CPM.
