I don't stop very often anyway throughout my day.......keeping the left door closed raises fuel mileage and profits, not to mention the time I save. But when I see one of those signs to stop n check brakes, I pull over, stop, take a 30 second leak and roll on. As long as I'm gonna stop my forward momentum, I figure I may as well use that opportunity to recycle some coffee before moving on. Keeps the cops AND my bladder happy :)

The very act of stopping just proved your brakes work. Check completed. On your way driver and cut the BS.

So it is like stopping at a red light or stop sign. Monteagle has red light.

Half these new drivers don't even know where the brakes are if they had to actually check them.

Signs with Black letters on a silver (white) background signify law, or rule, or code....must be obeyed.

Signs with black letters on Yellow background are safety advisories...key word "advise"....they are intended and placed as a warning.

Signs with white letters on a blue background are informational signs....rest areas, food services.

Brake checks need only be "flagged" unless you take over 7 minutes, then instead of taking up drive time, use Line 4 "ON DUTY NOT DRIVING"...still takes from your 14 but saves a bit with the 11 drive.

If you are west bound over Donner on I-80, and do not stop at the brake check, you will be cited. The sign is posted on black and white, regulatory.

I run that section of I-80 regularly. I see trucks pulled over for not stopping all the time. CHP watches for this and usually gets two or three at a time.

I have been stopped for this even when I did in fact do the stop.
Flagging my stop has saved my arse more than once there.

From what I have been told, It aint a cheap one.

Correct. We have one, complete with an official red octagon stop sign in the designated pull-off area just south of McAdoo, on PA309. Often times the State Police will hide behind some bushes nearby and get the goofballs who think the law doesn't apply to them.
