Not lazy, not by any means. I put many, many hours in on getting the lanes my guys want/need. Whether dedicated or just once. Most of the guys that I work with are new and don't know HOW to book loads, so I walk them through the whole process and who to steer clear of.. how to approach direct shippers and everything that goes into getting exactly what they want for the right amount of money. I can't imagine trying to be in a truck AND do what I do.. not enough hours in the day. If you have your own shippers.. great. If you have your own brokers that move you around.. great.. but I work with guys that don't have that and settling for load board loads on a regular basis is just silly.. AND LAZY. The services dispatchers provide can save so much time and make a truck more money.. so really, for the guys out there that shouldn't get sucked into the whole "Go haul for CH if you have a reefer, they can keep you busy.." independent dispatching is an excellent resource.

I realize that there is a niche that we independent dispatchers fill, we aren't for everyone.. but those who use us know why they do and when they are ready to go out on there own they are more informed on how to go about it. And even the long timers that just don't want to deal with all that is entailed in finding, negotiating and booking loads know that they can have loads waiting for them when they are empty, no headaches, no worries.. just loaded trucks and miles to drive.

Don't hate on us because we provide a service.. don't hate on the guys that use us.. just keep doing what you do and so will we. I love the trucking industry with a passion, otherwise I wouldn't be here, but it is just like any other profession.. filled with too many know-it-alls that don't want to share that muchly coveted "insider" information..

I personally know of a "dispatcher" that is doing what I do.. but when I told him I work with shippers for my guys, he laughed and asked me why would I take the time to do that?? He bragged about having several dispatchers working under him and they use about 7 load boards and that gets the job done. To me that is exactly what the definition of lazy dispatching is.. but I am not of that mentality.

The transportation industry is enormous.. there is plenty of room for the guys that run themselves and those that want/need some help. Keep truckin' my friend.. we are all in this together.
