no kidding ! stoped at eddys corner at moore mt recently ...had tuna melt , fries , bowl of clam chowder , 1 glass of milk and a piece of pie ...bill was dang near 19.00 buks ! not counting the tip .
Yea...it's kinda sad. Like I said, I especially will make it a point to stop at my favorite mom and pops a couple times a month if I'm going by. Just can't afford it much more than that. I don't like to see good old fashioned home cooking restaurants struggle these days, but it is what it is...
i share your sentiments ...i dont really fault the mom and pops tho theyre costs have gone way up too and a dam shame the general public would rather eat garbage like subway than i good sit down meal .
PFJ DID NOT I REPEAT DID NOT BUY TOWNPUMP! They only sell Pilot brand fuel. Townpump is still owned by a Montana Family.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Drivers who drive foe the mega carriers, seem to have this fear , that if they park at a independent truck stop, they will be fired. Great example right here. Pelican always has the majority of o/o, and a few company drivers parking there, spending money there, yet a few mile east, the peelot and hook, are full with mega carriers. All the while , parking can still be had at Pelican at 0200. Been stopping there for years, never have a problem finding parking. I have to fuel at pfj, but I can park anywhere I want, and spend my money anywhere I want to. PFJ / TA, LOVES don't get my own $$ Pelican is a good place, home cooked food. no fast food. Old school truck stop feel to it.
Shhhh...don't tell all the steering wheel holders that they can park at independents or you'll have them filling the lots up soon with crap bags and pee bottles. Just keep it quiet and leave the great independents for the real drivers out here...
Does anybody know the name of the man who owned that truck stop? He was my father's dad and I am trying to find him.. my father was adopted and wants to find him.
