Don't pull the boots off the air cleaner(s) and run unfiltered air thru your engine, just change the air filters, they are cheaper than an engine.

Yes I was thinking this for the fact that I don't believe they have been changed recently at all. What is likelihood turbo is out and how much are they to do and how hard to do them?

You can pull them and look on the inside of filter on a 379, you can see if its bad. To check turbo you should be able to spin the fins freely, they should be smooth and not chipped up. FWIW we were only talking about 2 or 3 minutes max on running without filters. Not saying that changing them is a bad idea, especially in light of not knowing when they were changed.

Those filters ran about $50 each at the Speedco oil change place. Turbo is not hard to swap. On a good pull, the pyro on my Acert gets up to around 900. Always has. Did you get all of the check engine light problems squared away?

So the air filters here in North Dakota are 126 a piece. So I got them but I'm gonna get my next set online as it about 50 a filter there. So feeling pretty gouged at the moment. I am making another post because another issue just popped up last night that makes testing this issue impossible.

Also someone here locally a mechanic suggested it could be a blocked air to air? I read somewhere on here that you can clean this out? Can anyone kinda walk me through how to do that?

Though im not giving up in the air filter idea as I already bought them and the truck was having noticeable performance issues that I wrote about in previous posts. So the air filters are a common variable amongst all problems I'm having so I'll keep my fingers crossed for that one, though it would be the first time I've ever had a problem remedied by just changing my filters. Though in honesty these trucks are on very dirty dusty roads 90% of the time in their work so it's entirely possible they are just really badly clogged and these motors like a lot of breathing.

I wanted to to say thanks again yo all those who take the time to help me out. Ribs are on me if any of you ever get up to Williston North Dakota. :)
