Alright then, on to researching a CDL school. See Schneider has a list. Appreciate the knowledge!

I got ya, lol. I've never owned a truck so it shows, I suppose.

Stevens, KLLM, etc have to be getting at least $2-$3+ a mile on those reefer loads, then turn around and contract them out at 90cpm

It's no wonder that Schneider is going the route it is. Pay the least amount as possible, make more money, guys still take the same loads at half the rate. I need to go on Shark Tank and get funding to start my own mega carrier!

Just to update. They do require CDL school for new drivers, and they must be from the list of approved schools from the website... 160 hour course with minimum of 40 hrs behind the wheel.

The recruiter told me that they are really pushing for tankers with hazmat endorsements... Offering big bonuses to even new drivers and starting pays in the .45-52 cpm range.

I did see that they have choice board for tankers too.. Any experience with this anyone?

Is the TSA, TWIC, and hazmat testing trouble worth it? Would love to hear your opinions!

@Thull just posted a thread about how they didn't have a load for him out of the house, he's a Schneider tanker driver soooo not sure that I'd be so quick to sign on.... https://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/threads/layover-pay-dilemma.337744/

Hazmat fingerprints take ten minutes if you have an appointment. The endorsement test is the most difficult out of all of them, but I passed on first try. Worth it if the company you go to pays extra hazmat pay and has good hazmat loads.
