Something to keep in mind. Look at the tire rating and pressures as listed on the side wall. The listed pressure for the tire is minimum pressure not maximum. a 14ply minimum is 110 psi and 16 ply is 120 psi. So if running 105 psi, then the pressure is more than likely below manf. minimum spec. Inflation really should be slightly above minimum pressure, e.g., 5 - 10 psi. Also consider too than breaking places a great deal more load and force on the steers, more so than on the drives. Another reason to run slightly more pressure.

Other consideration for tire life beside pressure, certainly, also is proper 6-point (three axel) wheel alignment and and wheel balance of the entire rotational mechanical mass. It is all about basic physics and dynamics.

You raise valid points of concern. I do believe, more so than optimistic, that regulations will change and the mega carrier influence will be stifled. Already seeing positive signs with our new prosiness less government administration. No I will not engage in a political discussion here, but is very obvious. Immigrant influx or pouring in of foreign drivers is indeed an issue. However, with than too, I am hopeful we'll see a new direction. That too is another discussion for another thread. But alas, I believe my viewpoint and comments could very well be censored by the moderators.

Trailer repositioning is so company drivers don't chase empties.

    Went home the other day.

Atlanta to house bobtail, they wanted me to take an empty to Knoxville and drop at yard.

That didn't happen but if it had it would've added over 100 oor miles. So this out of market line of bs is just that BS.

It was to have the IC foot the bill for trailer move. PERIOD.

I know some will say it never happens to them. I'm not saying they do the moves but for anyone to say they've never been ASSIGNED a ridiculous unsolicited empty move is just lying!

Any company that ASSIGNS you a task is treating you as a company driver.

While no one likes extra work, repositioning trailers is vital in a drop and hook operation. Tho i figure they only offer you guys something insulting like a buck a mile to barely cover costs.

25 dollars. Also when I'm headed home after completing my last load I chose, I don't expect or accept being dispatched by the company then threatened with a 250 repositioning fee if I don't do it.

Before anyone chimes in for me to stop whining or take my truck elsewhere, I've stated my intentions so no need to go there.

And 1 more thing for the record I have no issues taking empties while I'm moving freight, it's after I've delivered my last load and I'm headed home and some anonymous person in GB ASSIGNS me an empty move when I'm bobtail.
