I keep looking up national stats.. every week I see Van/Reefer/Flatbed rates all going lower and Load go Truck ratio getting worse also.
O/Os running under their own or those dealing with brokers a lot are really crying.
Trucking just sucks right now in general.
Here some areas have gotten sucky and there's been less big $$$ loads popping up.
I'm still doing fine, just sticking to the same areas and same loads all the time. Though boring I'm grateful there's still areas of consistent loads and rates.

Cap'n Dave......that live load out of JAX going to either Beech Island or Loudon isn't a bad load.

    Good luck, brother.

Dipschitt, Im still with Crete for the next week, but always pull that load to Loudon. Is it a decent load? One time I bounced from Jacks to Loudon to the beech back to back.

Also, freight is crap here right now too. Having to take garbage loads to get my miles, and I figure I see orange in most of the places I go. I think its industry wide right now.

Personally, for the money, I'd take Beech.......shorter miles, less pain. That said, I usually take the Loudon because they always have a load going back home (McDounough).

    GeekFink Thanks this.

####! Paper is cheap as hell! You would think roll stock would be more. Whats worse...I know we are low on freight when I am doing alot of recycled paper. Glorified garbage truck.

Haha. I just delivered a load of recycled paper myself. Didn't pay bad. Short hop...and relatively painless.

I ran not to long ago recycled paper from Chicago 150 miles into Indiana for $3 and got a similar load going right back to Chicago for a little over $3.
First one was drop and hook at both ends, other was only live unload.
All depends on the lane mainly I guess.
The one time I was in Florida the best load was a paper load to Savannah I think for like $0.90 , just wanted to GTFO with running cheap for as short as possible.
I remember there were loads from Jacksonville to the Northeast for around $1.10 yeah no weren't touching those buddy lol.

Going to have to look for those when I come on. I dont mind that area at all. (guess im used to punishment) lol. One good thing about paper, incl recycled is it is on and off pretty #### quick. We run a recycled load out of columbus to loudon quite often, then I am usually picking up in Vonore at Conagra and heading to Romeoville with bulk.
