I looked everywhere I could and Sarno information showing that they were on the board of directors or anything like that with this company... now I can tell you from experience back when I was with Schneider many years ago when Lofgren took over that he was a problem too many back then and could possibly still be the problem today

Freight is still down. While fuel prices are starting to head back up. I'll be headed to the Midwest come Tuesday. Been on choice for about a month now. Ain't been all good but it ain't been all bad. Economy is still in the tank. Hopefully the eld mandate will have a positive effects on rates. Less truck capacity. l'll try to hang in there until then.

It takes months just to figure out the system, lanes, load tricks, when to book vs wait for something better, areas of good customers etc etc. Learning all this doesnt happen overnight...
    Hang in there.

I'm doing close to what I did a year ago but it's a lot more difficult to pull off.

I ran into a choice ic 2 wks ago who came from company side and been doing this 2mos and says hes ready to quit because there's no money... I told him that it's going to take several months to learn the system and learn what Lanes you want to run in and Freight patterns but certain customers personally I don't think he's going to hang around I think it's going to quit.... I think a lot of these guys want to come over to this side because they think it's going to be a walk in the park pick your own load and run will you want and run as fast as you want and all this other stuff they're going to find out that driving the truck is the least amount of concern because now they become not only a business owner but a dispatcher and a load planner as well as a driver there's a lot of work involved

I would LOVE to see the kinds of loads he's doing and then saying theres no money.
I'd bet he's doing easy longer runs, staying away from population centers, trying to go home all the time and etc.
It's usully those types that complain they cant make it.

The ones that succeed are the ones that really use their brain plus do loads that make sense financially.. not so much doing loads that are fun and easy.

It really really does take A LOT of studying and mental work to get the most out of this program, especially now that freight is in the tank.
Someone cant be a lazy dummy and be successful here, that aint happening.
If someone puts the work in they can do well here. If there was soo called "no money" here one would think many of us would bave taken our trucks elsewhere.
There's a dude with brand new Western Star that works here, another on this fourm that went from leasing to going out and buying a new Volvo.. that kind of stuff doesn't happen by accident, they see the same loads we all do.

As @drvrtech77 said.. theres certainly a lot of work involved. The driving is the easy part, thats for sure.

My 2 cents. It took me about 3 months to get a good idea of the freight lanes and the times certain loads hit the board. I did run everywhere to get an idea of the customers and lanes. I spent almost every available minute looking at the load board trying to study the entire country. Living in Denver there is no swinging by the house. I wasnt a company driver. All of us run a little differently and have been successful at it. I also had TennMan as my mentor which was awesome. I dont think Schneider does enough to prepare new IC'S for the business side, the planning, maintenance along with the 1000 other little items you have to keep up on. Its a huge change in mindset from running as many miles as my dispatcher will give me to surgically putting the best revnue trip vs miles vs where that load is taking me.....many cant not change and that equals failure.

    Be Safe Out There
