Team driving will be hard to do and still do the short loads you like, also cut your space in half that's available to you now and see how cramped you get.

Also as the owner you now would have to pay taxes and what not for employee.

Lots of disadvantage unless it's a spouse.

As with picking anything in this industry there's pros and cons with everything.

Yes I'd have to deal with another person and I'd lose my privacy but I could earn a lot more money and pay a driver good as well.
    Just something I'm thinking about.

I drove team for years with my wife, it's tough to be around somebody 24/7. If the money didn't go directly to the same household it wouldn't have been worth it.

    Opus Thanks this.

When lease is up I'll choose between...
Buying my leased truck and running it
Buying my leased truck, running it for a bit then selling it.
    Get a new Glider
    Get a new truck

I don't think I have it within me to buy a used truck, I just wouldnt want to risk buying someone else's problems.

I was forced into teaming twice while in "training"... yeah it kinda sucks.

However i look at is as I'm paying all this money for a truck, I might as well get the most out of it while I'm out here working.
Then I could afford to take more time off and enjoy my time off even more. So while the teaming part sucks the reward for doing it is pretty good.

In our Schenider quarterly update in our media messages:

"As the year progresses we continue to see freight similar to 2009 levels"

    In other words BAD!

Hopefully all this lack of freight/cheap freight forces out a lot of the dummy drivers.
Part of the problem is there's too many truck drivers working for peanuts.

I agree and I believe it will before it's over and done with all the want to be business people will give it up and move on to something else... At least I'm hoping but usually it does work out that way hey guys usually the weak don't survive through a down economy
