You should be compensated for losing loads and precious time to repair their equipment. More drivers would do the right thing then.

Well then again you'd have lazy bum drivers damaging equipment so they can eat pizza, sit back and collect easy money while repairs are made.

Better yet...when a driver has to repair an obvious defect that previous driver easily could've seen then pay the driver down time and the $$ that is paid deduct from the fool who dropped it like that... I'm talking like landing gear pcs missing and tires that are obviously in dot violation... That would cut that out really quick..

    Sounds awesome!

Wait... what if a driver damages equipment on purpose and then trys to get it blamed on the previous driver?

If I can do things over again I should have done a one year lease on a Crapcadia and then went to lonemountain to get a Kenworth.
Going through Schneider to buy the similar truck is going is cost me an extra $21,000 over the full term

    Oh well

At least you're a young man, you have time to buy several trucks before it's all over. Mine will be for sale in a few years, well several years... never mind.

If I owned a company, it wouldn't be pulling trailers in the condition that yours is in, period.

It's now all drivers, I have taken trailers into the shops at our yards for tires that were total crap, and they let them roll. The company has tons of ability to pay better attention to these trailers, they choose not to.

FW yes it may be 21k but I have heard SFI will work with any driver in good standing if truck is down and payments backup Lone Mountain would repo you. I know an IC who was out 3 month because of a heart problem SFI redid lease and moved all the payment back...Yes there is a price for that is it worth 21k idk... If you had 60k left after 3 couldn't you just go to a bank and get a monthly payment for less? Or paid extra over the 36 months?

This is true, they somewhat are in the process of redoing mine. The two weeks I was broke down they are adding those weeks onto the end of the lease.
So the breakdown wasnt totally all money out the window.

I'm paying like $120,000 for 3 years just for the lease. Buy out is $59,000 (after double security deposit return).. with interest over two years through Schneider it comes to around $66,000. So like 10%
Don't think i could do much better than that (as far as interest) for a used truck.

Over 5 years that means I would have paid roughly $191,000 for a truck :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

    FW,
Remember that's all tax deductions...100%. I know once I switch over to my new Volvo in Oct I am going to continue to pay an extra 300.00 per week so at the end of 3 it's real close to being paid for. The big payments get old fast.
