Not good. Didn't get loaded until midnight. (8 hrs) Spent the night there, then had to do 650 miles to get it there because it was a production load. Mountain roads are ridiculous. Couldn't overnight at the receiver, so had to make a spot along the side road. But it got me out of that awful AR/OK market anyway.

I didnt actually book those loads because the .80 load was taken but yes you get the idea.

1.70/mile running team miles is kicking some ###. Great job. It's not rocket science. No idea why guys are so confused.

It is what i would do. But we are in different situations and run different operations. What i do may not work for you and vice versa. For example 50% of the time i can have a leaf in mass or ct paying near 2$ a mile back to the Ohio Valley or southeast. 30 % of the time i can load in pa or jersey paying 1.80 to indiana or Illinois. The final 20% i end up dhing to Youngstown/pittsburgh/cleveland cause those loads just aren't there and is either bounce, sir and hope, or pull heavy and cheap. Heavy and cheap almost always means pia 2 hour tarp job after 4 hours loading plus 4 hours unloading. So for me its better to bounce empty and load a good load the very next morning in that pittsburgh to Cleveland area. For you, those 3 options don't really exist so you gotta make the best decision or if you're options.

I'm not in your shoes so i can't honestly tell ya what i would do if i was. From a distance is easy for me to say I'll bounce empty before pulling that cheap ####. Would i still do that if i was in your shoes? No way to know.

Ran into a mercer van guy tonight. He pushed the clutch in for me while i adjusted it. After we was taking shop. This dude had an awesome gig. Runs a dedicated account that is paying 1.81 (after fsc so can fluctuate up and down a coyote cents depending on what fuel costs that week)a mile on anywhere from 2500 to 3500 miles a week. No touch freight. That's freaking awesome for a van. Heck that's almost good enough to get me to go but one lol. And yes i saw the settlements so it wasn't made up numbers. No i won't tell who the customer is and let some other carrier come in and try to steal the account. I only mention it cause i give you door swingers so much grief that its only fair to give props when you see someone doing very well at it.

Haaaa I wont say the company name but I built a great relationship with one of there agents...I was trying to get on that account because there warehouse wasn't too far from the house but there were no openings... Those loads always pay good and they're fairly light

Ya and i don't leave for 80 cpm. I bounce first. Even a drop and hook doesn't make it worth the time. Ever. Running enjoy you burn less fuel. Less wear. And get to the good load faster.

I'll disagree. What are your operating costs? Mine are right around 60 cents. Fuel, truck, maint. I can make money on an 80 cent load. Granted I can't live on them, but beats burning the fuel for nothing.

Running empty does cost fuel and wear. But much less than running with 40k on.

And ya, 80 cpm doesn't cover fuel and wages. And that's just with 1 driver, with two it not only doesn't cover them it missed by a large margin. Fuel is about 26.5 cpm right now. If the day comes that I'm only gonna make 53.5 cpm I'm parking this truck and getting a real job.

Some days it just doesn't pay to get out of bed. I averaged a whole 37 mph today over 10 hours. So much for spending tomorrow night with my grand kids. No Bills on a Relay, Flat tire, and I drag the 95 to a Loves and SEM says can you make it the 38 miles to the OC...NO but I can drag it back up on the interstate and you can send road call. It took them 3hours to send approval to Loves to change it. Traffic just horrid. I'm now going to be almost a whole day late on this load. Best part trailer just had its yearly inspection yesterday...I know they just make sure the tires are DOT.

Also, my 2 cents on FW and the discussion of being able to work both boards. Hell NO!! A team could plant themselves in a hot area and kill it and us solo's. While I think it sucks there's no loads for 200 miles. WT F that's BS on Schneiders part. Lowest paying freight I ever took .89 but I live in Denver. But I have deadhead all the way to KC and no I won't drag your trailer.

And can only imagine what you would be saying if the they opened up the solo board to teams when you were on the solo board.

Why shouldn't they open up solo loads to team IC's. When I ran teams as company driver we pulled plenty of 400-600 mile loads. When we delivered in Vegas we always got a pallet load going to Omtario. Picked up lots of Walmart loads in eastern PA to MC
