Honestly if it’s that cold and that truck has somewhere to be tomorrow, I would bump the idle to 900 or so and keep it running. Yeah you’ll waste a little fuel and shorten up your oil change by about 50 miles per hour of idling I figure, but don’t go stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. Block heat helps but cold starting an engine down at those temps is hard on it. Idling is not the best either but it keeps the batteries charging and fuel circulating at least. Any chance of it not starting the next day is not a chance you can afford and subzero temperatures are nothing to fool with.
