Man ..you think so small. plumbers and electricians don't just work in doing in-home repair...new construction , building maintenance all sorts of things..and yes I'll take them in a house where I can watch their every move if necessary , other than have them driving down the road in an 80,000 lb. vehicle...I can control them in my home if need be...I can't control them while their in a truck....

I don't really feel sorry for dopers, but I do feel bad if he actually wasted his own money on CDL school after being led to believe he'd find work.

I wish there was a huge banner for newbies somewhere on the site explaining that schools don't get you jobs just because you gave them money...

Yea, 5 is the standard, not 4, but someone said now would be enough, and its only 4 years, not 5 yet.

Actually, the federal law still applies in those states. The DEA could arrest and a federal court could convict someone in those states, even though the state, county, and city law enforcement would not. The US DOT also considers it breaking the law if you are caught driving your personal vehicle under the influence of drugs in those states if you are a CDL holder.

even if your not cought driving under the influence, if you ever smoked in the last few months and you fail a piss test, DOT can punish you the same way. Even if it was legal when you smoked it, its still in your system DOT can crack down.

This is also the case if you travel to Europe and smoke in a country where it is 100% legal. It is still illegal to drive a truck int he US after even if no longer under the influence.
