    You don't have to catch a nailer with a wedge: you can nail wedges to a 2x6 8' and the nail the 2x6 to the nailer strip.

    One of the places I go loads trailers on trailers: ultra high security or I'd have a pic bc of how ####ing dumb the setup is.
    Trailer wheels are at the 4 corners, front axle turns front wheels (setup like a hay wagon) big balloon tires. So you chain 4 corners down, then they screw down 2x4s across your deck, in front of and behind each axle; then screw 2x12 pieces 18" long alongside the inner and outer of each tire.
    So the 2x12 is higher off the deck and acts as a barrier from the tires all working their way sideways but only a straight 2x4 stops forward and aft motion (disregarding the securement)

    Then you tarp it.

    I had a load of little generator trailers like that this winter. Miserable is the only word I can think of. By the time I got them to all stay put I had 4 chains/binders on every one. Plus 2 straps pulling opposite directions on the tongues.

    It never ceased to amaze me how loads like that would find a way to settle, which of course loosens the securement.

    No those are slitters. Notice the extra banding holding the individual coils together to make one. Rather than rely on the banding I'm assuming the extra chain is there to help make it one unit. Like a choke strap on a load of pipe.
