    last company i worked for (you know, back when there were jobs........) they charged more for more specialized trailers. so flat was cheapest, then step was more expensive, double drop more, then lowboys, then into real specialized stuff.

    Learned that when I went out once to get something (some oil and gas premade steel catwalk) and even on the step it was only like 10' tall (ground to top) and the dude was like WTF? how tall can you be? 13'6". Well how much taller is a flat? like 2 feet. so this would be legal on a flat? Almost certainly sir. (*&*&^%^%$&*^ those ######## screwed me, go have your dispatch call me, i ain't paying for a step............"
