I had three of those Louisvilles. An ‘80 and two ‘81’s. Those were awesome trucks even if a bit of a pia to work on Cats installed on their side with air cleaners and things jammed all around them.

CAXPT, FerrissWheel and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I have two, that 95 with an m11 and a 72 dump truck with a small cam
The m11 isn’t to bad to work on the small cam has much less room mostly because that truck has a shorter hood
They have generally been good to me and that yellow one is about as nice as you will find…can’t wait until it’s a dump truck, it’s to long for what I do with it now.

CAXPT, FerrissWheel and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

Mine were LTL’s. Even they were a little tight with big engines. The LT’s were horrible. Even an 855 Cummins put the back 2 holes inside the cab in those. Not the truck you wanted to be hot-setting your Big Cam in anyway.

Look at you licking up the distribution jam again. I like transformers. Both PTI and Carte International see my trucks pretty regular when they’re in the west. Usually bigger pad mounts than those though. 16-20k. Four or five of them make a nice light and painless load on a b-train.

Wish I had a ltl 8DBC4592-E315-47BD-A917-3FE66315990F.jpeg There’s one at this rock quarry Sadly it’s pretty nice but won’t be for long.
I would have thought that a 14 lite engine would have had plenty of room in one

CAXPT, FerrissWheel, booley and 3 others Thank this.

My LTL’s had the old hood on them. Louisville grille and round headlights. Cummins wasn’t that bad in an LTL, at least the engine was under the hood. The Cats were a problem. They’re bigger than a Cummins in every direction and high enough they had to be installed 18* off vertical to fit under the hood. With the air cleaner and everything else under there with them it was a little tight.

CAXPT, FerrissWheel, Ruthless and 3 others Thank this.

The biggest I’ve seen in our yard was around 28k. We don’t move those very often, usually only if one burns out somewhere and we gotta send a replacement.
