Never been north of the border driving a truck, or north of Fairbanks in a car. I've heard tell Fairbanks to PB takes time and fuel.

 

He said 25k not 25 dollars.

 

I've been to Fairbanks 4 or 5 times this year and once to prudhoe. I'm not going for $25k, especially a team that I have to share the money on. Here's something people dont realize, you leave Fairbanks there is one truck stop and zero towns till you get there. Prudhoe is 300 miles north of the artic circle. Guys who live in Fairbanks and run the haul road weekly charge $7k a round up and back. So think about that. Here's a few pics.

 

Even at 25k I think they are light about 5 to 10k to go all the way to prudhoe with a team.

 

Thanks for the input about that Prudhoe run. It was covered by a team from Louisiana. I just hope they have enough warm gear and don't get surprised by issues along the way.

I know for a fact I didn't have the clothes to make the trip, would have had to find something along the way at a high price. I'm not a wilting daisy it comes to cold weather, but I have experience in it and know that I need to be prepared.

The OTHER matter is the truck. Would it survive in that cold? My brother's truck or the truck I'm driving would have needed a grill cover just to keep the engine in a reasonable temperature range.

Bottom line is I am glad to turn down that load.

 

I hear ya. Just try to put that out there for everyone so others don't go for cheap and have issues.

As far as cold gear Edmonton flying j has cheapest warm stuff.
