I just saw a Landstar Truck pulling a Prime Trailer. Must have been a Brokered Power only Load that the O/O booked through Landstar. Unless they’re Working together now. ??? That Amazon deal looks like a Mess. I hear it pays bad. Every time I’ve done an Amazon Load it paid real good. One things for sure. Plenty of Freight. Warehouses everywhere. Multiple warehouses in one Industrial Park. Building more everywhere all the time.
That the Outfit in Indiana? I recall talking to O/Os Leased to them. Usually Load out a new Trailer, deliver load then deliver Trailer. Always light loads or empty. They seemed to like it.
Individual dealers deal with their own list of brokers. The rates are very low. For example Nebraska to Michigan $1000. That’s going to the broker not to the truck. At that rate I didn’t want to pick up my trailer. I’ll have someone haul it to me. That trailer is also unloaded.
I must have got locked in on price with the broker when they quoted me back in June. For 1800 to 2000 I would get em myself too!
I'm a 4 month old carrier, Power only. I did a lot of runs for TQL. not new trailers but round trips where you do not have deal with a load out, and then look for a load. These were mostly round trips in texas to the border and back. Landstar also does the same but you have to find your own return load. Carried a lot of new Frac trailers in and out of Midland Tx area. Great companies to work with for a new carrier. Found Land Star and others on a Load Board. Locked in with one broker and started dealing with him only. Hope This helps.
