I know you guys know what I look like already, but I've set out on a beard journey so I look quite a bit different. Here I am with 4 months of no shaving, shooting for 6 months, then thinking about going for a year.

First you'll have to go with a trainer for 6-8 weeks. I highly doubt you'll find a trainer that will allow pets in that time frame. When I left Hirschbach they were starting to train students and they allow pets. Not the best company but better than the big mega carriers for training. They hire out of AL. Covenant, USXprees and Schneider are all in the Chattanooga area. But OTR you are open to any company. They don't have to be local, just run your lanes which many do.

When you get 2 years under your belt try Storeytrucking.com . They are not far from you in Henegar, AL and run to AZ-CA and back. Round trip is usually 8 days and you do a restart at each end. They are relaxed on off time but like the ones that keep running. It's a good paying fun job that pays the moment you complete the round trip. I've had many $2000+ paydays depending on what the loads pay. I delivered to Mitchell Grocery in Albertville many times with them. You either go there or the Atlanta Fulton Farmers Market or the Alabama Walmart DC's on the back hauls. You haul Dalton carpet going out. Keep them in mind.

B&G which hauls for Mitchell Grocery across the street is another good company.

Hey thanks! I want to OTR, had someone wanting to team with me but they sold out on me at the last minute. It's fine though, I'll find something that allows pets. I know I cant take him with me during training but I want to be able to have him with me afterwards.

    Some old ones...

One of my favorites. Circa 1998, Fort Drum, NY. Something I said annoyed the Platoon Sergeant of my platoon I was assigned to (medics were assigned to HHC, then tasked out to the line companies as needed) not to the point where he wanted me to be push ups and flutter kicks, but enough he wasn't just going to let it slide. So instead I had to do 'the ostrich' - take a running start from the other side of the tank trail, and do a header into the snow bank.

    And the aftermath.

After delivering to some bum ### town nearby, I found myself stuck in Mitchell, South Dakota for the weekend. This was in July of 2011. Of course, the Pilot there is a little hellhole, so I walked the two miles in 90-something degree heat to go to the Mitchell Corn Palace (for lack of anything better to do).
    I couldn't resist.
