FWIW, instead of a microwave I use a toaster oven. I cook in aluminum pie plates (comes in sets of three, use them a couple of times and replace). I also precook most of my meals (easy to do because I get home time every weekend).

My International LT counter has a strap to strap down a microwave or toaster oven. I discovered the hard way that you have to strap it down very tight or else it’ll vibrate out from under the strap!

There ain't a strap in there to secure it down. Below is a close up photograph of the shelf.

Just don't drive like a maniac, and it'll be fine. I can't take pics right now, I won't be anywhere near my truck for the next two weeks as I'm on mandatory vacation.

Since my 2021 Freightliner Cascadia does not have the strap on the microwave shelf, where can I buy the strap for the microwave shelf?

I think that my company might try to discourage drivers from putting a microwave in that microwave shelf. I just watched a video about how to intall a microwave in a Freightliner Cascadia. On the video, there is a strap to strap in a microwave like people here mentioned, but the strap has been removed on my microwave shelf. Furthermore, on the video, there is an electrical outlet at the back of the microwave shelf to plug in the microwave. On my microwave shelf, there is a big piece of plastic blocking access to any electrical outlet. You can see this piece of plastic in the photograph I made of my microwave shelf in post #12.

Bought a $45 700 watt microwave from Walmart almost 4 years ago, still works like the day it was new. I’m on my second Rand McNally GPS, at $500+ a clip. The microwave is the least of my worries.

Like everyone else.. I got a cheap 700 watt microwave from Wal-Mart a few years ago and it still works good as new. Mine is strapped to the cabinet behind the driver's seat. I keep the truck idling whenever I use it. The best advice I can give you is don't forget to take that glass turntable out before you get rolling. The rattling will drive you nuts.
