PA and KS both belong to the Non-Resident Violator Compact. Although this apparantly hasn't happened yet, it allows Kansas to ask PA to suspend your drivers license for failure to pay or appear, and requires PA to do so upon request. Upon suspension you will also likely be added to the National Driver's Registry database. Look for that possibility in the near future. There is also the possibility of a warrant out there waiting for you. Warrants do not expire, so it can out wait you. Both states are also members of the Drivers License Compact, which requires member states to report "convictions" to the driver's home state (Not charges but convictions).

Sometimes the wheels move slowly, especially in rural jurisdictions. Some jurisdictions who do not report promply, may do what is referred to as dumping. That is they get some funding or additional manpower and put all of the last year or two convictions in at one time.

A DAC (Now HireRite) contains what you asked for. For instance when I run one on someone I can request the report contain a MVR, a workers comp history, a criminal history or any number of variables. If I request an MVR I then have to specify what state or states to search based on what state drivers licenses the driver has held.

Additionally DAC (HireRite) does not get a report of everyone's ticket convictions. Upon request, they electronically poll the state involved for the driver's record. In other words if it isn't on an MVR from a state, it can't be on your DAC, because thats where DAC get's it from, and then only on request.

You are required to report convictions "in writing" to your home state. You do not have to report convictions in your home state.

It's a good idea to be truthful. Some people though believe that if they tell on themselves they will not be hired and would rather lie and be hired now and work a while before discovery with the possibility that they will never be discovered. Whatever your decision, a worse bite than being fired after discovery can happen.

    Best regards

FWIW, I recently got my 'lifetime' report from the state of FL (got my 3yr MVR, and nothing shows on it, but I forgot I had a speeding adj. w/held back in 08, so I got my lifetime) and on my 'lifetime' my suspension from 1998 is gone, as are all my violations pre-2000!
So, now I have no idea what companies will see when they look me up!
