I sell trucks and there is no mark up on new trucks that we have built for you specifically. You can add many different options that add to or subtract cost. Used trucks vary to what the dealership has into them. For instance a 2005 FL with 800,000 miles may cost 15,000 but the same truck with an overhaul maybe worth 22,000 to a dealer

Well that may be a web posting but when I buy a truck, I do not see that term used at all. I get a total cost of the truck with all of the ordered pieces on the invoice and there isn't an MSRP on the paper work anywhere.

I think many dealers throw that term around so they can make it look like they can knock off a couple grand to make you feel good.

When l bought my truck back in 2000 i shopped around based on specs. Pete had the best deal for me. On the build sheet they had a suggested price of 154,000. I paid 132000 obviously they still made money at that price.

Please explain your reasoning. I don't want to assume I know what you are trying to accomplish with this approach. Thanks.

I see. Thanks for the response. So are you referring to a lease purchase? I am planning to purchase, either outright or with some financing. At this point I don't plan to lease.
