Hi everyone. Ive been searching through the forums but I can't seem to find an answer to my specific question. So I figured I would make an account and ask. Im working towards getting my CDL, and currently I have a non-cdl driver job. That job required me to get a DOT physical. I passed and have my med cert. However I struggle with the ishara color vision test. Not a big deal at my current job becauae my examiner just test for red, yellow, and green and I pass that just fine. However I was wondering if anyone in Florida knew if the DMV would also color vision test me (using ishara dot test) or if my long form/med cert would be enough to convince them not to? Like I said, I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere because most forums just mention the DOT physical which I already passed. Thanks!
Just renewed my CDL in Florida yesterday.Only thing the DMV checked was could I read all the letters on line 5...no color test, no peripheral vision test. If you have a dot medical card, you shou be good to go. ishara? Saw that on a sushi menu maybe.
Awesome. Thank you. That makes me feel infinitely better. I was hoping my med cert would be enough but it's always good to cover all bases. If you don't mind me asking, what part of Florida did you renew in?
