Wow, uh, Orleans, NE is a road out in the middle of nowhere according to the TND. It only has that one single road for the whole town so even if you try to go to the city itself you still end up out in a field.

Nuudge, I for one do not flame anyone. I respect each and every driver here no matter what kind of post they submit. I may have been on the road for a short 3 years, but I am not a spring chicken either. I served 20 years in the military and worked for a phone company for 11 years. I take everyone at face value.

Do some posts get a little under my skin. Yes, as I am only human. Do I try and be professional in my reply's - yes.

The reason I have some doubts about your posts are that they seem so familar to prior posts from non-drivers, whom had no knowledge of what a driver does on a daily bases.

I do not mind having spars with users on this forum. This is how change comes about. I know the limitations to the TND and I can only suggest to Rand on new features. IF an issue is found then I work hard to try to create it again so that it can be corrected.

All I ask of any person posting, is that they be honest and they understand that nothing in life is perfect. Everything that we see and touch is flawed in one way or another.

The TND is no acception. It does have certain limitations, and with creative coding these limitations can be overcome.

But, some things are beyond the means in what we would like to see in a "perfect" navigation device.

I am sure all drivers would like to see 10 MPG also, but will it every happen?

Sometimes, you have to learn to trust that little box in front of you. But, with the thought that it is not perfect, so you also have to use the "master" brain that each of us was born with.

I have read posts (from other sites) that a driver (?) pointed out that the powers to be at Rand should have contacted him before they created the TND. Seems like a powerful boast. But, this TND was not put together with a ball of string and wax. A lot of foresight and testing was involved. Did RM make mistakes? Yes, as they are only human also. Were other factors in place to make the release of the TND before it's time? Things happen in life that others have no understanding of.

I deal strictly with the Beta Testing and new feature input as the Lead Beta Tester. I am here for you as an non-user, a user or a Beta Tester.
I help out with Support and interaction with users to help with any issues that they have. I have 5 Truck stops with 50 miles of my location. I have met up with users with a simple request that they need assistance.

I will let you know if their is an issue that may affect the operation of the TND. That is my job. If you find issues with the TND I would ask of you to let me know. I can tell you if that issue has been resolved or not.

But, my most important job by all means is to listen to you. What is it that you are wanting to be added? What is wrong with your TND? Why cannot I do a search for POI's?

I will not publish my phone number on the forum, but I have no qualms about anyone E-mailing me and passing it along that way.

Just in case no one has noticed. The Dock is now on version .60. Please update if you are not on .60.

Again, I thank anyone and everyone for their posts. I have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy being here daily.

    Thanks,
    Mark

It is out in the middle of No-where..

    http://www.mapquest.com/maps?city=O...ude=40.1292&longitude=-99.455002&geocode=CITY

I only see one US route into\out of this town with a SR also.

I forwarded up to RM so they can look at this closer... it is a small town and if you zoom in then you should see more than one road....

    Thanks,
    Mark

When you select the town while entering an address, it skips the part where you enter the street and presents a list with one option on it. I tried going through the route to city option and it routes to the same spot. I think it's out in the countryside somewhere NW of the town. I tried zooming in and out but there is absolutely no detail at all so I can't tell where I'm looking at.

The screen shows Phillipsburg, KS. I can't tell where that is either.

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

When I entered as city center it also showed the KS city. This is a mapping database error. I forward it up to RM so they may look at it.

    Thanks again.

There are two entries for Smith Center, KS. One of them is blank.

I would like to see the ability to turn off construction listing and routing. Going up and down I-5 it is very annoying. Construction changes daily and the TND wants me to exit the interstate for construction. That ended months ago. For example in Portland at exit 296 wants me to exit northbound due to construction.

I live in Oregon and have never had my TND try to route me around any construction even in the Portland area, it just tells me it there, but doesnt try to make exit to avoid it.
