Got all drops done scheduled, now I'm on number 9, and had time to get my Landstar inspection done, which was the most thorough inspection in the history of the world for some reason.

I should have let it go, then they would have turned me off until it was done.

But you have to have someone that's certified by Landstar, it's a level 1 every 120 days, and this place is right on the way.

If hadn't done it, the inefficiency would have driven me mad.

That's irritating to say the least. Some of these guys who just got their inspection certification think they are now some kind of proffessor. Then through in a place like TA who works off commission it becomes tight butt hole time, no matter how well kept the truck is.

Yep. I will never let a ta or boss shop do a dot inspection on me.

Well we have no choice. And it can't just be anyone that is certified to do an annual, they also have to be Landstar certified.

There is one guy in Phoenix that was certified, that had an independent shop.
I had him do a PM on my truck, and caught him/his men not even changing the oil or any of the filters, but took the time to take some brake cleaner and try and rub the dates off the filters.
Got my money back, and the complaint is on file with the BBB if you'd like to see for yourself. And written letter of apology.
Sent it all to Landstar. Don't know if they did anything to him or not.

Yep we got the same thing here at mercer. Only places on the approved list. Thank god that approved list includes better more honest places than TA.

When I was leased on there I always went Louisville for all of my inspections.

That is also my preferred method. To many places view inspections as an opportunity for revenue. And then other ones barely look at the truck. I want a good second set of eyes on it, that won't make up stuff to get business.

DAT has just now reported rates are skyrocketing near record levels. By the time DAT gets around to admitting what everyone else knew a long time ago, means brokers are getting scared.

I see $5 to $6 mile van freight uncovered lmfao.

Dunno about scared, necessarily. Being able to roll with it and keep up with the trend has been very beneficial to me, at least.
