Care to expand on your math?

My first load today is going to pay me $45 and take less than 2 hours total, only 1 off the 70.

Last fall I did 5 short haul deliveries - burned 3 hours off the 70, 7 in total, drove a total of 40 miles, made $220. I then knocked out 250 miles for and additional $125. In total $345 for 9 hours or less off the 70. Compare that to a 600 mile, 10 hour day where I would have made $300.

In 7 days I can do 3,000 miles running recaps. I can also run 3,000 in 6 days take a restart and be in the same spot - if I have open appointment times.

    3,000 at .50 cpm = $1500

To make $1,500 at 2200 miles would be 69 cpm, for $1,600 it would be 72 cpm. Not sure how you got all the way to $2.00 a mile.

Back to the thread, to the Original poster, It will all sort it self out when you start going down the road. The only real reason I sort of preplan is to have a target for the day, helps me. I run Houston and back to SoCal right now, I want to be in the San Antonio area by the end of my second driving shift, sometimes it happens and sometimes %$#$ happens, just like targets in a toilet, sometimes it matter sometimes it don't. What does matter is stay safe, period. The rest is the same at the end of the day,

My math is the best kind of math there is... learned it from Foghorn Leghorn.

    143 - 3=14
Two half nothin' is a whole nothin'. That's Math-o-mathics son

The "running 0600 -2000" isn't miles, it's time of day. To run the 86 hours in 8 days it generallt means running on your ten and minimizing breaks.
