Was thinking it may be better to go otr for the first year or two , to gain experience .
As I said before I have no idea of any good / decent companies the school just said what I think is the mantra you know us xpress , Schneider and Werner .
So I was just looking for more companies to look into

Forget what the school said; they always push the same companies. You can do better by asking questions on this forum.

That's what I was thinking tbh , that's why I thought I would ask here.
Been looking online as well and like you say , it's mostly the same companies over and over again .
Leaning towards otr to get as much road time as possible , then take off from there .
So if you have any thoughts outside the bigger companies that would be great .

Try those companies I listed. Some large companies are pretty good outfits.
    Freymiller
    Abilene Motor Express
    Navajo Express
    Magnum Ltd.

I make $1700 flat/weekly. I dont count the miles, only the money. North east regional. Once a week nyc delivery, mostly the big Jetro in Brooklyn. The company has 20 drivers, pays good but no benefits. I signed up for my own benefits, cheaper that way. We run at night, less traffic.

I live in WV and am home 1-2 days a week. If my boss can't find a load for me to pick up or go through my house, he then lets me bobtail or run empty. Hes a #### good man to work for.
