Averitt wants a safe driver first and foremost. So yes they expect the same level of training from all drivers. Now experience is a different matter. They are not going to expect perfection your first time out on the road with a tractor that you have NEVER BEEN IN. Your first post said you were a recent CDL grad. Don't worry about the truck part. The auto makes it very easy and intuitive to drive. Just remember your basic driving skills, common sense, and SAFETY. I'm also pretty sure they won't even worry about a pre-trip for the test since they will have quite a few people to get thru. Done for now... Off to work I go...
That depends on how long it's actually been since he graduated CDL class. I don't remember the numbers but after a certain amount of days after graduation Averitt no longer considers you a student.
I didn't know that, I figured they would road test first then again after training......I skipped over the training part and went straight to the road test
yeah I put everything in order and near the end of your training your trainer will administer a 120 mile road test
Eh, Nukem, I was out of school for 2 years and gone from my last company for over a year and they considered me a student. Didn't get a road test til after my training with my trainer.
I am referring to the road test BEFORE you get hired. If your with a trainer regardless of how many weeks, your going to get some kind of final evaluation at the end, but students do not get the test during orientation cause they are going to be out with a person for 6 weeks and they just got out of class or just got they're CDL, etc...
