I keep a spare in wallet and keep my wallet in my front pocket. I learned my first solo week it cost $130 to get in my truck on the PA turnpike. :)

There's an entire thread about this issue in the discussion about everything area. Seems a driver locked himself out and even the cops couldn't use a slim jim. He decided to break out his window (driver's side.) I keep two key rings, one that gois into the ignition and the other stays in my pocket. It helps when the lock gets accidently pushed down.

Just a thought - get into the habit of only locking the door with the key? That way you're sure that the lock actually WORKS and you know you have your key! :)

That's what they taught us in trainer training too. Have to consciously build habits. :)

Coming from a ProStar to peddling a 9400 for a week I was blown away at the massive amount of storage in a Columbia....can't wait to see how a Cascadia is configured then.

Lots of places to hide keys on a tractor, I feel better about locking my keys
in it once, I emphasize the word ONCE, I to called a lock smith, I locked my truck up at a laundry mat in winter with the truck RUNNING !!!

2 hours later the guy shows up, works on it for about 5 minutes walk over to the passenger side, looks in the window, walks back to the drivers side pushes on the vent window, opens it reaches in and rolls the window down....

    Yeah felt pretty stupid ....LOL
    150.00 Lesson !!!

I locked my truck in the fuel isle. I scaled my load, pulled through and locked my only key inside. Other truckers with freightliners tried to help. I warned people that fueled behind me of my mistake. Everyone was cool it was like 4-5 am. So I went into the truckstop maintenance shop they said call the cops they'll do it for free. I was really unsure but called the number provided, not 911, and sure thing a cop came with slim Jim took him 3 min max. I said thank u and went.on my way. Now, my trucks I slip into have two keys, one for the wallet and other key ring. Save me many times. Youngstown Oh TA I think it was at lol
