Since I put in the info request I've gotten 5 or 6 calls from people wanting me to run UPS loads for them at 30% linehaul on a 1099. So no...

So in this fact finding tour Bruce Oakley is still on top @ an average of 1.75 all miles.

Furthermore, and finally, you're assuming the miles. You can't do that with someone else booking your runs.
Plus, you gotta put up with UPS rules. No thanks

I have to start with end dump. After 20wks, for the escrow account to fund for trailer damage, then I can switch to pneumatic.

I know recruiters lie, but I've been lurking forums and from the talk you have to try to not gross 5K/wk.

I'm just to sure about the end dump and using up a truck running 80k every day.

I dont have the numbers in front of me but it was 1.98 loaded end dump 1.55 or 1.65 empty. That included clean CSA and fuel surcharge. Pneumatic paid .10 more loaded and empty.

Better off staying away from freight these days. I don’t know anything about dumps or pneumatic, but I run heavy most of the time, unfortunately, the main thing is Driving it right, being patient, Truck will hold up. Most problems are from Driver abuse.

Warranty is great and all but when the truck is in the shop getting fixed for a week or two who's paying your bills at home?

I figured specialized was the way to go but I figured a place like UPS was steady work. I wanted to do overdimension but my experience is limited to hauling metal and is a bit old. Plus to a truck spec'd for heavy haul looked cost prohibitive to start out with.

Beats a couple weeks of no income with bills piling up and a giant repair bill.

If they even cover it. Generally they dance around covering your repair any way they can. Believe that.

It ends up being cheaper to pay for the repair yourself and get your truck back on the road asap.

I tried to get warrenty work done one of my trucks. Took almost 3 weeks to get it back on the road. Constant back and forth with the warranty company. Had I just paid for it myself truck would have been back on the road in 2-3 days. In the mean time I was eating the cost of a rental for my driver.

Lesson learned. Unless it's a factory warranty it's not worth the paper its printed on to me.
