I'm trying to figure out what driver managers even do there. It seems like a redundant position, as far as I can tell.
Process the macros, EFS requests, enter home and try to work out swaps. The rest of the time they take driver phone calls and listen to them b itch
In my 4 months now with JCT, I've spoken with my DM 3 times for probably 5 minutes in total. Planners on the other hand, I speak to all the time. I've had 3-4 planners call me frequently for load assignments and swaps, of which I'm happy to help out when asked. Seems to be a lucrative and smart policy to keep the planners happy, as I've been running strong miles.
Maybe I need to start talking directly with the planners. I got a load to ky with a bunch of time and miles. But I want to get to colton or ontario. Sending macs and free form does nothing. I swear its like dms have t-rex syndrome. Big heads and short arms. How hard would it be to ask if anyone has a driver headed west that wouldnt mind going east.
Apparently all DM's at all companies have to take the Postal Exam and just like the post office, If they pass they are NOT hired.
The macro works just fine. It's the poo flinging college educated Chimp on the other end that is the problem.
I wish I had that load so I could drop it in Sapulpa. I have been sitting here in Ontario since 730 am waiting on preplan to Sapulpa. I have asked for swap 3 times and was turned down all 3 times, yet I have done 3 swaps in the past month that helped JCT but hurt my bottom line. Never once got a thanks or what they promised.
