Well just wanted to let everyone know, I left. I didn't want too but the economics forced it. I will be the first to say I screwed up and forgot about rentals! So did my dispatcher too... Oh well how many times do you think about that? Should done that right after I got it out of Rush in Haines City.:biggrin_25526:

$2500 in the hole, and (at the time) no available rentals. I was looking at about 3 weeks in a rental , however one would not be available for at least a week. I did the numbers and discovered that by the time I got a truck (assuming one of the three that were over at Freightliner would be ready by that Saturday, it was Tuesday) I would be 2850 down. I was not happy about that. When I dropped my truck off at Freightliner that afternoon, I got a shot of bad news and a shot of worse news.

    Bad news
The truck that was closest to being ready would not be ready by Saturday. Possibly the following Friday so that made the wait at least 10 days. By then I would be $3100 in the red.

    Worse news
My truck had three recalls on it. Minimum time to repair 45 days.

I flew home the next day after they refused to lease me a new truck. Hey I tried, but they just weren't willing to work with me. I flew home the next morning.

I discovered that it was nearly 14 days before the rental I was going to get came out, and it broke again 3 days later. My es-truck was in the shop until the 3rd of November.

I'm currently out of the industry, but Western Express (yikes) and Wiley Sanders (double yikes) have started buggin me. I'll never be a company driver again, JCT spoiled me.

I have no bad feelings toward JCT and would go back, but only with a few conditions. Tri-Pack and no Freightliner... Possibly a 13-spd. No that is just nit-pickin...

I had Verizon and ran into a few no data areas along I-20 in TX and I-80 in ID. But that was about it.

I was averaging 550 a week, when you take into account a few 0 or - weeks and dont include anything after June. If you include that I was -225 a week. The truck started at 6.8 and by the first PM was up to 7.1mpg. By June I was seeing nearly 8mpg. So it was breaking in right, but the costs of constant idle were eating into the bottom line. As the rolling mpg got better the idle got worse. but then again it was from March to June, so that probably impacted things.

If I could do it all over again, I would have had the APU fixed right off the bat. It was serviced, but the A/C side couldn't be properly checked as the OAT was below 60 at the time.

Now my job includes the line "Thank you for calling Obamacare..." God just shoot me...

I was explained I had 90 days from beginning the lease to change trucks. After that I couldn't change until after at least one year, so I would be 4 March 2015 before I could do a new lease.

Looking back I don't think she (Lease Purchase) knew I was having all these problems, even though I did tell her what was going on in our last conversation. Sometimes it seemed inter-office communication was less than open and clear.
