Advice: get out of those 2012s and get into a 2014-2015. Fuel economy will be better and they have a 500000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. The 12s are all out of warranty except the engine and tranny. Everything attached to the engine ifs it if warranty; alternator, a/c, radiator, compressors and pumps, etc.

Just my thoughts for what they're worth.

The one you're picking up will only have a partial warranty for about 5 months.

I like my new truck so far, but I swear she is an OS&D magnet! I only had 1 before I got this truck and I'm on my 3rd in about as many weeks now. What? No letter behind the number on the truck and the shippers decide it needs an extra pallet on the trailer? It's been overages until this one. Wally World rejected 200 cases of Romaine lettuce for (thank God it wasn't temp) "stems and seeds". I get that. Nobody likes stems and seeds in their leafy green stuff. Not even in Washington or Colorado. JCT does pay me for the miles and a drop, and it's not a JCT thing, it appears to be a reefer freight thing but still; OS&D is a royal PITA!

I did learn, after sitting in Riviera beach all danged day (10A-4P), that as soon as I hang up w/ OS&D to go online or whatever I need to do and get a "donation plan" in place and then I call OS&D and let them know that if the customer decides to donate and doesn't have a preferred donor that I have a legitimate and truck friendly food bank in place, close and ready. Say the word and I'm there. Had I known that sitting in Riviera Beach, I'd have been outta there after just over 2 hours. They knew they were gonna donate pretty quickly. The time was spent trying to find a donation place.

OS&D finally called me late in the afternoon and explained that and asked if I would mind checking around locally too while they kept looking. "Sure." I 411'd the Mayor's Office, called them, explained and they were all OVER that! A local politician arranging for two tons of food to be donated to local hungry & needy? Talk about campaign mileage when re-election time comes! Plus it's good PR for JCT too and builds local goodwill with the community. You know danged well it'll run front page on their local scandal-rag fish-wrapper the next week. "Mayor Smith arranges for John Christner Trucking to donate 1,600 cases of . . . to . . ." In about 10 minutes they called me back with 8 legitimate local charities that would love to take it and would even come out to the t/s in pick ups and vans and hand offload it - whatever they had to do. "If we need to, we'll send city public works people out to assist." As it turned out, I was calling OS&D as they were calling me and they had just found a place about 30 miles away and it had a (OMG tight!) truck dock and palate jacks so that's where they sent me. Which was fine. I personally didn't care who got it. I just wanted it off and to get rolling to my p/u!

This particular OS&D got resold to a more seed and stem friendly dealer and I took it 165 miles (on the same route to my next p/u) to another customer and it only took about 2 hours to arrange, but you better believe that ever since Riviera Beach, I get a "Plan B" going as soon as I hang up w/ OS&D. Local Mayor's or County Commissioner's Office is a great place to start. I just make sure that whoever I'm talking to knows they are a "Plan B" and I don't have authorization yet and am just doing advance leg work and I give them a courtesy call back if they aren't the one's to get it. They seem grateful anyway that we thought of the local community and OS&D told me that any time I get that kind of info to send it to them and they'll input it in their database for the future.

Still, I'd like to formally ask the Diesel and Asphalt Gods to lay off the OS&D claims for a while. LOL.

I talked to John Mallory the other day. They don't have any of the '15 available right now. I do know that here soon they are ordering a bunch of trucks to replace the '12's. I figure since this truck has a new motor, it should be able to hold out til the new ones come in the first quarter of 2015.

So, I'm standing outside a restaurant in downtown Austin and look up. What did I see? Santa Claus riding a horse down the sidewalk. Only in Texas. Lol

Ok so I got a message on QC that says thanks for being a valuable driver. You have been here for 6 months and we will send you an email with your gift info. So one that makes me feel good that they actually said thank you for the service (former company did not ever say it) and 2 what is this gift they speak of? I know at 2 years you get a jacket but what are the other ones? O and I have gotten my ol girl to a steady 7.41MPG and my wallet is very appreciative LOL.

About a month or so later, you will get an email from the JCT store with login info. You will login and choose your 6 month gift. A blue JCT wind breaker. Pick your size and then a couple of months later, it will arrive at your house.

They are in the process of changing the gifts. You can chose from like 5 or 6 at one year.

Maybe he was just starting early for Santacon Austin. Didn't happen to notice a flask did ya? Maybe a Winchester 30-30 or a Henry 44-70? Hopefully not a flask and a rifle, for sure. Santacon's getting pretty popular and Texas is vetting a new Open Carry (firearm - not alcohol) law.
